The WFO e9 chassis is welded from 6061 aluminum frame mated to a one-piece motor mount. The motor mount houses upper and lower pivots, plus the lower shock mount, for a rock-solid foundation. Forged frame end links and dropouts bring added strength and the pivots ride on Enduro Max Black Oxide bearings for smooth, long-life performance.
The Bosch Gen 4 Performance CX drive system delivers torque sensitive, zero-lag power delivery. Powered by a 625 wh battery, this system delivers miles of reliable, predictable pedal assist in the most challenging conditions.
- Bosch has the most responsive (fastest processing speed) torque sensor on the market. It’s 20x faster than the nearest competitor, so the system adds assistance faster and also shuts off faster when the rider stops pedaling.
- Bosch’s battery offers the most energy density on the market today (which translates to the most range per pound of battery, making bikes lighter).
- An automotive grade diagnostics system makes it easy for dealers to monitor Bosch drive systems.
- Bosch has a 2 year warranty on its systems and is conservative in its estimate of system life. Testers have run motors for longer than 5 years and 30,000 miles.
With up to 180 mm of coil-sprung travel, the Horst link 4-bar suspension system offers ideal behavior in a pedal assisted application. The leverage ratio, shock length, stroke, orientation and mounting location are tuned to Niner’s specification. Because the rocker arm rotates the upper shock bushing far more than the lower, Niner added bearings to the upper arm and oriented the trunnion mount shock with the damper body on top.
The WFO e9 has a “mullet,” 29er front/27.5+ rear wheel setup. The smaller rear wheel keeps the chainstays short for snappy trail manners and provides massive traction.
